Layer Cake – *

Layer Cake barely passed my 3DMT™. And it’s near failure wasn’t due to the actors in it- all of them are great (is Colm Meaney ever bad?). The story was pretty interesting, the style of the movie was good, and the acting great. So why am I killing it with only one asterisk? Because of buzz. I was repeatedly told how great this flick was, and well, you know what? It’s good, but it’s not great. It’s decent, but it’s not like a Scorsese type of film. So, I punish this flick with it’s teasing poster of Sienna Miller who’s more overhyped than this movie. Bah, maybe I should give it two stars. . .
