Terry Childs’s Charges Dropped (SF Net Admin)

On Friday most of the charges against Terry Childs were dropped.

You may remember that I was a bit spun up before about this situation in previous posts.

It’s been more than a year since his arrest. And I still think a lot of this mess is internal HR bullshit that should never have hit the courts.

At least the judge in this case was semi-sound and threw out most of the charges. The remaining charge is for “Denial of Service” which is thin as I think they (the SF Prosecutors) aren’t using that charge correctly.

InfoWorld has been following the case. And SF Appeal has a post up too.

I really think they should lower the bail too ($5 MM ?!?).

Again, I don’t think the prosecutors understand the case or what they got themselves into. -He didn’t take down the network, he protected it. -Yeah he may have been a dick to his coworkers/manager, but that’s something the manager should have gone to HR about- not the cops who don’t understand what’s going on.

I wish I could win Lotto and donate a lot of cash to EFF.org and my own A-team of lawyers.
