Hrm, I found a link to a story on my HD in my India blog drafts folder.
I don’t feel like pasting what could be an offensive post, but I think I bookmarked it because of two things- 1) someone had told me something similar in Singapore (I think it was the hotel staff) and 2) an incident I saw on one of the planes or in an airport that I don’t want to repeat [for now]. But either way, I thought this was interesting- Anyway, here’s a paragraph:“Hong Kong was under British control for a long time, so the Chinese living in Hong Kong have at least a basic understanding of acceptable manners,” a resident of the Fragrant Harbor city tells Shukan Post. “But Chinese from the mainland don’t even know the existence of the word ‘manners.’ They have no custom of lining up.
